Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the plans of Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend a Christmas service in one of the Russian churches. Reported by TASS
According to the information, Peskov promised to clarify the specific location later. It is noted that the President of Russia usually celebrates Christmas outside the capital, while he traditionally celebrates Easter in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
In November, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky proposed to shorten the New Year holidays so that people would go to work on January 2. He linked his proposal to the Russian budget for 2022-2024.
This is not the first time that the deputy has proposed changing the New Year holidays. In 2020, he came up with the idea of a mandatory weekend from December 31 to January 3 and transferring the rest of the weekend to paid vacation.
