At a meeting on the development of the space industry, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of development of the industry. He stressed that a set of measures aimed at supporting the industry has not been approved. It is reported by “Interfax”.
The President recalled that in April the government was instructed to prepare a set of measures to achieve long-term goals in the field of space. Putin noted that a number of decisions, including the program for the development of the GLONASS system until 2030, have already been adopted.
The President pointed to delays in the approval of the plan for the development of the space industry. “The whole complex of measures with appropriate financing had to be approved by August 30. However, this has not been done so far, which jeopardizes our plans for the development of the industry as a whole, ”Putin said.
The President asked the meeting participants to explain the reasons for the delay and to name the timeline for the completion of this work.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin expressed his dissatisfaction with Roscosmos. During a video meeting with participants in the Big Change competition, he pointed out delays in the implementation of programs for the development of a super-heavy rocket and a space constellation within the framework of the Sphere project.
