The United States and its allies must understand that Russia simply has nowhere to retreat further because of Washington's plans for Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned about this, reports TASS.
“What they are now doing on the territory of Ukraine or trying and planning to do, this is not a thousand kilometers from our national border, this is at the doorstep of our house,” the head of state explained, speaking at an expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry collegium.
He also recalled that earlier Washington had repeatedly interfered in the internal affairs of other countries. In particular, we are talking about Iraq, Syria and Yugoslavia, Putin specified.
Earlier, the president said that if NATO infrastructure appears in Ukraine, the flight time of the missiles will be reduced to 7-10 minutes, and with the deployment of hypersonic weapons – to five. He stressed that this is the most serious challenge for Russia.
On December 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry published the draft agreements of the Russian Federation with NATO and the United States on security guarantees. According to the document, the United States should not establish military bases in the territories of the former USSR countries that are not NATO members.
