Surrounding Russian territory is a difficult task, but modern military means allow us to think about it. This opinion was expressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the annual large press conference, which is broadcast on YouTube by TASS.
“Did I say that we are surrounded? Well, the bases all around are true, ”said the head of state. He noted that new weapons systems are being installed in the east, south, north, and even more so in the west. At the same time, Putin stressed that Russian territory is too large for its successful encirclement.
Earlier, the Russian president said that the reason for NATO's eastward expansion was the euphoria from the alliance's victory over the USSR in the Cold War. He assured that Moscow will take military-technical measures if the armed forces of the North Atlantic Alliance approach its borders.
