Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a public power law that allows governors to run for more than two consecutive terms. The corresponding document was published on the official portal of legal information.
The corresponding document is aimed at implementing the provisions of the constitution on a unified system of public authority, as well as improving the organization of public authority in the constituent entities. In addition, the law defines the principles for the activities of regional authorities.
According to the document, the governor may be removed from office by the President of Russia due to a loss of confidence or due to the expression of distrust by the local Legislative Assembly. At the same time, the Russian leader can terminate the powers of the heads of regions for any reason.
