Putin should not be given much time: oppositionist on Russia's readiness for a long war

The West cannot be pulled with the help of Ukraine in the fight against the invaders. Russia will fall into the abyss in every sense, but will still adapt to the sanctions, look for different ways to import prohibited goods, etc.

Russian opposition politician Gennady Gudkov told Channel 24 about this. He believes that the longer the war goes on, the more time Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has to adjust the economy and rebuild the military-industrial complex.

The West cannot be “slowed down”

As Gudkov emphasized, there are no claims to Ukraine at all. The military bravely destroy the invaders and fight for the whole world against Russia. But there are questions to the West. Russia cannot be given much time even despite the sanctions and international isolation.

Dragging out the war plays into Putin's hands. Some products are already out. Yes, they can be a little more expensive. There are legal-illegal channels and ways to bypass some restrictions,โ€ Gudkov noted.

According to him, Russia will be in the deepest hole. But Putin will still fall down and threaten all nuclear weapons. Ukraine needs more help.

Russia is not ready for a long war – Budanov's statement

  • There is one of the common claims that Russia is able to withstand a long war and is ready to fight against Ukraine for decades. Not everyone agrees with this.
  • The head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kirill Budanov, is categorical on this issue. He stressed that Russia is not ready for long-term hostilities.
  • According to him, people in Russia like to show that they are ready for a “war for a decade.” But their resources are quite limited both in time and in volume. The invaders are aware of this.
