Putin sent undercover spies to the West: who they say they are and what they do – WSJ

Russian President Vladimir Putin deliberately kept Russia's borders open, allowing hundreds of thousands of Russians to escape.

After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Kremlin regime, under the guise of refugees, sent its agents to the West, who are probably engaged in politically motivated murders there.

The Wall Street Journal writes about this with reference to European officials.

The publication claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin deliberately kept Russia's borders open, allowing hundreds of thousands of Russians to flee to Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus to avoid mobilization.

“Undercover intelligence agents joined them, replacing those who had been expelled,” the article says.

The publication, citing its own sources, suggests that it is Russian agents who may be behind the high-profile murders of Russian defectors, including pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who was killed in mid-February 2024 in Spain, and last year flew a Russian helicopter to Ukraine .

Russian spies are likely involved in other mysterious deaths of Russians that occurred after the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine.

Russian businessmen were found hanged in London and drowned in Puerto Rico. A United Russia deputy fell from the roof of an Indian hotel, and the 46-year-old Deputy Minister of Science of the Russian Federation died of an unknown illness during a flight from Cuba.

Since 2022, Spanish police have been investigating the death of former Novatek top manager Sergei Protosen, who was found dead along with his wife and daughter.

In total, there are more than fifty names on the list of strange deaths of Russians abroad. True, no proper evidence has yet been found that the Kremlin is behind these events.

Recall that Spanish police confirmed to the American newspaper The New York Times that Mi-8 pilot Maxim Kuzminov was killed in the coastal city of La Vila Joyosa. Subsequently, the local publication VilaWeb provided information about the probable involvement of Russian special services in the liquidation of his compatriot.
