The frigate of the Russian Navy “Admiral Gorshkov” with hypersonic missiles will be located in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, January 4, during a video conference with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, set sail a warship armed with the new Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missiles, which, according to him, are unique in the world.
It is reported by Reuters.
“This time, the ship is equipped with the latest Zircon hypersonic missile system, which has no analogues,” the agency quotes a statement by the president of the aggressor state.
The head of the military department of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, specified that the frigate “Admiral Gorshkov” is sent to the Indian and Atlantic Ocean with a call to the Mediterranean Sea.
“This ship, armed with Zircons, is capable of inflicting pinpoint and powerful strikes on the enemy at sea and on land,” Shoigu threatened.
He also stated that hypersonic missiles can overcome any missile defense system, as they fly at nine times the speed of sound and have a range of more than 1,000 km.
Recall that the test of the Zircon missile was carried out by the Russian Federation in May this year. It was fired from the frigate “Admiral Gorshkov” in the Barents Sea near the Finnish border.
