Putin: Russia is years ahead of other countries in the field of nuclear space technologies
Vladimir Putin called for mastering new launch vehicles and maintaining high reliability of launches. The President held a meeting on the development of the space industry.
“Over the past years, we have made significant progress in the development of unique technologies for nuclear space energy. According to experts, Russia is ahead of all our competitors in this area, ahead of the whole world by six to seven years, ”the head of state said.
“This is a very good start, and we need to use this advantage, support breakthrough scientific research in the field of astronautics, and accelerate the practical implementation of promising technological solutions,” he added.
In 2030, Russia plans to launch a nuclear tug into orbit. It is intended for flights to the moon and to the distant planets of the solar system. First, flight tests will be carried out and, if successful, production will be established. The tug already has the name Zeus.
