Putin: our partners do not need a united and strong Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled the US plans for the desired territorial structure of Russia. The head of state announced this at the annual large press conference, which is broadcast on YouTube by TASS.
“Back in 1918, one of the aides of Woodrow Wilson, the president of the United States at that time, said:“ The whole world will be calmer if instead of today's huge Russia a state appears in Siberia and four more states in the European part. ” In 1991, we divided ourselves into 12 parts. But it seems that this is not enough for our partners, ”he said.
President Vladimir Putin noted that the West should have treated Russia as a potential ally, rather than attempting to further disintegrate the country, despite the promises and guarantees given. He added that Western partners do not need a united and strong Russia, and therefore Moscow is obliged to act as it sees fit.
Earlier, the Russian president said that Western countries should immediately give Moscow security guarantees, the further development of the situation in the international arena will depend on this. Putin stressed that it is not the course of the negotiations on this issue that is important, but their result.
US President Woodrow Wilson served as head of state from 1913 to 1921. During his reign, the First World War, the February and October Revolutions and the Civil War in Russia took place. He supported the American military intervention in the Russian territory of the North, Siberia and the Far East. Wilson's policies laid the foundations for the Cold War and containment policies.
