The law adopted in the summer allows Russians to release, during periods of mobilization or martial law, persons who have been tried even for such serious crimes. However, Vladislav not only fights – he calmly publishes photos from home, where he barbecues with friends.
Putin does not openly announce mobilization
- Putin is trying to play into the fiction of elections scheduled for spring 2024. The Russian President will try to avoid open mobilization of the population, because this could cause public discontent.
- In October, the Main Intelligence Directorate said that everything in the aggressor state was ready for open mobilization. However, the enemy cannot declare it, because this will affect the same elections, as well as the economic state of the country.
- For now, the Kremlin can decide on a “reduced” mobilization, that is, 100 or 200 thousand people. A large army can be dangerous for the regime, so Putin is more likely to “throw in more firewood” to support the existing forces.
