Putin has only one reason for a new mobilization: an expert's explanation

Next year the owner of the Kremlin faces elections, so he is in no hurry to throw a new portion of “meat” to the war in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin can only be forced to carry out a new mobilization by huge losses and failures of the Russian army at the front. He is being held back from this step by the approaching presidential elections, which are scheduled in Russia for 2024.

This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Channel 24 by political scientist and sociologist from Germany Igor Eidman.

“When Ukraine will capture another large populated area, for example Melitopol, and break through to the sea – such things will force Russia to mobilize. And this will be a strong blow to the stability of the regime,” he believes.

According to Eidman, a large number of Russians will try to escape from Russia so as not to end up in the war, but they will not go out to protest against the war.< /p>

“Those who take to the streets will immediately be beaten with batons and end up in temporary detention centers. I don’t think there will be such brave people. People will simply try to escape,” Eidman added.

Panic among potential conscripts will damage Putin’s rating before the elections and will lead to a split in the so-called “elites”, who already understand that the head of the Kremlin cannot localize the war.

Recall, American philosopher, political scientist, writer, professor Stanford University Francis Fukuyama believes that the collapse of the Russian Federation and the fall of the Putin regime are possible with weakening in the center of the country.
