Putin finds himself in a stalemate: he will have to choose between a bad and an even worse decision Petro Sineoky

The offensive in Syria began at an extremely unfortunate moment for Putin. He is actually in a stalemate.

The founder of the “Reactive Mail” charity organization, military expert Pavel Narozhny, told Channel 24 about this, noting that the offensive in Syria, which is being carried out by several groups at once, has created problems for dictator Vladimir Putin.

What problems has Putin encountered

As Narozhny noted, Russia at one time supported the Assad regime in the civil war in Syria. It was believed that in this way Putin is blocking supplies of the same gas from neighboring countries to Europe.

Because of this conflict, gas exports through Turkey to Europe are very difficult. This plays into Putin's hands. Because Europe still buys gas from Russia. If there were supplies from this region, the prices could be much lower, – Narozhny noted.

With the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine, Putin withdrew a significant part of troops and equipment from Russia. Only aircraft are mainly stationed at military bases. And now the Russian dictator has a problem. Assad asks Putin for help, but a huge amount of Russia's military resources are already involved in the war against Ukraine.

Let's say that Putin cannot withdraw 50-60 thousand fighters now. He will expose some section of the front, and Ukraine will immediately launch a counteroffensive. He is now in a stalemate. Either he gives up on Syria. Or he gives up on Ukraine, – Narozhny said.
