Russian President Vladimir Putin phoned his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. The heads of state discussed the security guarantees in Europe proposed by Russia, the situation in Ukraine and the possibility of holding a new summit in the Normandy format. This is reported by the Kremlin website.
“The discussion of issues of strengthening stability and security on the European continent was continued. In this context, priority attention is paid to the draft agreements between Russia and the United States on security guarantees and an agreement on security measures for Russia and NATO member states, which were handed over to the relevant addressees, including the French side, and then published, ”the statement says.
Putin pointed to the constraints faced by the Russian TV channel RT in France and expressed the hope that he would be given the opportunity to work on equal terms with other foreign media outlets.
The heads of state also discussed the situation in Mali. The initiator was the President of France.
The Presidents of Russia and France exchanged views on the settlement of the conflict and the restoration of peaceful life in Nagorno-Karabakh.
