Putin Controls Nothing: Head of Bundestag Defense Committee Assesses Kursk Operation

Combat operations on Russian territory create good preconditions for peace negotiations with the dictator's successor.

Ukrainian offensive against the troops of the aggressor country on the territory of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation exceeds expectations and demonstrates that Russian President Vladimir Putin “controls nothing.”

This opinion was expressed by the head of the Bundestag Defense Committee Markus Faber in his message on the social network X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, August 11.

“The offensive shows the Russian population that their dictator has no control over anything and that it is too much work for the military leadership. A good basis for peace talks with Putin's successor. And for negotiations with Putin before the International Criminal Court,” the German politician wrote.

According to him, the Ukrainian offensive is forcing the aggressor state to withdraw some of its troops from the front in the east, which gives respite to the Ukrainian units stationed there.

At the same time, Marcus Faber emphasized that this Ukrainian offensive is a reason to talk about a greater supply of Leopard2 tanks to Ukraine.

“Our military assistance to Ukraine is the best investment in our security. This reduces the potential of the Russian threat every day. This protects the civilian population of Ukraine from becoming refugees. Putin’s mouthpieces in Germany can now also realize this,” he concluded.

We recall that the earlier publication of the German newspaper Bild about military operations in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, in which Leopard tanks were allegedly used, angered the Deputy Chairman of the National Security Council of the Russian Federation and former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. A Russian politician threatened Germany with tanks at the Reichstag.
