Putin: talks on security guarantees will be held at the beginning of the year in Geneva

Russia has appointed representatives to negotiate with the United States on security guarantees in Europe, and the American partners are also ready to start the discussion. This was announced by President Vladimir Putin at the annual big press conference, which is broadcast on Youtube by TASS.
The Russian leader named the timing of the start of the talks and the place of their holding. They will be held “at the very beginning of the year in Geneva”. Putin noted the positive reaction of his American colleagues. The President expressed hope that the development of the situation will follow the diplomatic path.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also said that the first round of talks between Russia and the United States on security guarantees will start at the very beginning of 2022. According to him, there is an agreement between Washington and Moscow to use three tracks of negotiations. The Foreign Minister called the business reaction of his American colleagues.
