It is impossible to conclude a new contract 3-4 days before the New Year.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that there will be no gas transit to Europe via Ukraine, since it will not be possible to conclude a contract a few days before the New Year.

He spoke about this at briefing after the Eurasian Economic Union summit, broadcast by Russian propagandists.

“There is no contract, and it is impossible to conclude it in 3-4 days,” he said.

According to him, Russia is ready to supply gas through Ukraine under a contract with any counterparty, but this is impossible under the conditions of the lawsuit from Kiev.

Putin clarified that this refers to the lawsuit filed by Naftogaz of Ukraine in arbitration court regarding Gazprom's failure to fully pay for transit services.

At the same time, the president of the aggressor state assured that Russia has always been in favor of supplying gas to Europe and, in his words, “depoliticization economy”.

“We have never refused supplies to Europe. Have we refused? I have said it a thousand times, I can repeat it. Poland has closed the route through its territory. There is an active route there. No one hit it, there were no explosions, it is working. Just press the button and [gas] will go through the territory of Poland. It is called “Yamal-Europe”. It passes through the territory of Poland. Please,โ€ he said.

Recall that earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine's position regarding the possibility of extending the transit of Russian gas to Europe remained unchanged. It will be stopped at 7 am on January 1, 2025.
