Putin Arrives in Mongolia: Greeted with Honor Guard

Putin's arrest is not included in the program of the visit; a ceremonial reception is planned.

On Monday, September 2, late in the evening local time, the plane of Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. The Mongolian authorities, who, in accordance with the Rome Statute, were supposed to carry out the arrest warrant for the war criminal, gave the Kremlin's master a pompous reception, with a red carpet and an honor guard.

The video of Putin's meeting was published by the Mongolian presidential administration.

Vladimir Putin was met at the Chinggis Khan International Airport by Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkhin Battsetseg.

Putin's plans include participating in the ceremonial events marking the 85th anniversary of the joint victory of Soviet and Mongolian troops over the Japanese on the Khalkhin Gol River. His Mongolian counterpart Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh invited him to the celebrations.

Putin and Khurelsukh will lay flowers at the monument to Marshal Zhukov in Ulaanbaatar and hold talks.

Putin's arrest is not included in the visit program; a gala reception in honor of the Russian president is planned.

Recall that Putin's visit to Mongolia was the first trip of the Russian president to a country that is supposed to arrest him under a warrant issued in 2023 by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
