Russian President Putin: cooperation with China is a stabilizing factor

“This must be understood, there is no hidden meaning. We communicate with [President of the People's Republic of China] Xi Jinping as good friends, we have developed personal relationships of trust, they help build business relationships. China is the leader of the world and Asian economies, and we are developing relations in this regard as well. The level of economic cooperation has exceeded the level before the [COVID-19] pandemic. China is number one among our trading partners, ”the president said.
He added that Russia and China are cooperating in all areas, including in the field of security.
“Together we develop individual high-tech types of weapons, cooperate in space, in aviation, develop cooperation between the armed forces: we conduct constant exercises, international war games, and we carry out joint patrols at sea and in the air. Such a strategic partnership had no precedent like this, at least between Russia and China. This intense daily work is in our favor with China and is a stabilizing factor in the international arena, “Putin said.
On December 20, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China's friendly relations with Russia will not weaken regardless of the situation on the international arena. He stressed that the two countries are “united like a rock,” and the Sino-Russian friendship, passed down from generation to generation, will always be strong.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov expressed the opinion that the international political situation is pushing Russia and China to strengthen their strategic partnership. At the same time, the diplomat stressed, Russia and the PRC do not pursue any geopolitical predatory plans and goals in relation to any sovereign state.
