Russian President Vladimir Putin said that upon completion of the contract, Russia is ready to supply gas through Ukraine, but the Kremlin put forward conditions.
He made such a statement during negotiations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Tuesday, February 15.
“We are ready to extend gas supplies through Ukraine even after 2024, when the current contract for transit through this country expires. Of course, if there is demand from European importers and it is profitable. And the gas transmission system of Ukraine itself will be in good technical condition “, Putin said.
Recall that in September 2021, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia was ready to increase gas supplies to Europe, but only on the terms of long-term contracts.
