Moscow and Beijing are discussing attempts by the West to interfere in the affairs of other countries and drive a wedge between the Russian and Chinese sides. This was stated by the head of the Chancellery of the State Council of the People's Republic of China for Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Xia Baolong, commenting on the results of the last meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chairman of the CPC of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. In addition, during the meeting, politicians discussed that they “strongly oppose the imposition of unilateral sanctions.”
Xia Baolong also noted that at present, the positive dynamics of the development of Russian-Chinese relations remains. He recalled that in February 2022, the Russian President will visit China and take part in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics. During the meeting, a certain political document will be adopted – which one is not specified.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian also supported the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the unacceptability of the West's attempts to dominate the world.
