Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin the possibility of supplying a Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection. TASS reports.
According to Netanyahu, in the coming days they plan to discuss the purchase of Sputnik V. The politician also recalled that in the summer Israel signed an agreement with Moderna on the purchase of the future vaccine and will become “one of the first countries to receive the vaccine” of the American company.
“My goal is to bring as many vaccines as possible from as many locations as possible to as many citizens as possible as soon as possible,” Netanyahu said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the interest of dozens of countries in Russian vaccines against coronavirus. According to the head of state, many “have already expressed a desire to establish cooperation in the supply and joint production of these drugs.” The President of Russia also said that citizens of all states should have free access to vaccination.
To date, two COVID-19 vaccines have been registered in the country. The first to register was Sputnik V. On October 14, the Russian leader announced the registration of EpiVacCorona from the Vector Center.
