An April Fool's joke turned into riots and clashes with the police in the capital. The day before, residents gathered in the Bois de la Cambre park for a music festival, which was reported on social media in March. Allegedly, 200 European DJs were invited to it.
However, the information about the event turned out to be false – it was just a joke for April Fool's Day. The Belgians, however, did not disperse when they learned that the festival would not take place. They turned on music and started dancing, not responding to calls from the police to disperse.
As a result, the mass “party” in nature ended quite bleakly: people were dispersed by the mounted police, and water cannons were also used. Creepy footage of the dispersal of young people from the European capital appeared at the disposal of the Telegram channel Mash.
The rally of the “organizers of the festival” led to the fact that about 100 people were detained and several dozen were injured.
