“Proto-armies of independent states”: what Chechnya and Tatarstan are preparing for when creating their own PMCs

The latest events in Russia indicate the intensification of the process of disintegration of the country into independent national states.

Ramzan Kadyrov, who went to stop the PMC “Wagner” in June 2023, is going to take 300 Wagnerites under its terrorist wing. At the same time, the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, complains that the Kremlin will not be able to protect the republic. All this is evidence of the disintegration of Russia into independent national states, which began in 2022.

This opinion was expressed by Oleg Dunda, MP from the Servant of the People party, for Channel 24.

According to him, Kadyrov was in no hurry to stop Yevgeny Prigozhin’s march, because he realized that sooner or later a war of all against all would begin between the regions. Accordingly, whoever has a larger number of professional and armed units will have an advantage.

“Kadyrov does not want to face these challenges with his bare ass,” said Dunda.

Firstly, the deputy believes, Kadyrov has a task to preserve his own troops, and secondly, to add additional professional fighters to them who can carry out orders. In the last two years, the chairman of Chechnya has forgotten about national identity and is recruiting representatives of different nationalities into his troops as mercenaries.

“Kadyrov is preparing for challenges. He understands that he needs to preserve his power and a future independent Ichkeria. But inside there are many opponents who are ready to challenge and overthrow him from the throne,” says the people's deputy.

Dunda remembered how drones recently attacked a drone production plant in Tatarstan. After this, the President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov saw the light and declared that if something happened, no one would protect the republic.

Obviously, the people’s deputy says, the head of Tatarstan is seriously thinking about a separate life for Moscow. Like, if the Kremlin doesn’t protect, why maintain ties at all. It is possible that explosive disintegration of Tatarstan from the Russian Federation may begin.

“There is only one way in which the sub-empire will disintegrate – the path of the criminalized formation of future “proto-armies”. It began in 2022. One of its manifestations was the Wagner detachments. No one believed that they will go to Moscow, but in 2023 there was a rebellion,” said Dunda.

The Wagnerites realized that they were gaining more weight. They began to demand the acquisition of separate territories in which they could be feudal lords. By the way, Prigozhin laid claim to the Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk regions.

Currently, in all other territories, including Tatarstan, in 2022, a parallel trend was gaining strength when local regional elites created their own PMCs. By the way, this even applied to large oligarchic enterprises. After the Prigozhin rebellion, Moscow realized where everything was heading and tried to stop this process and include all PMCs in the ranks of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“However, nothing has changed. In particular, Minnikhanov and Kadyrov understand the challenges. Now they are using drone strikes to again raise the issue of creating PMCs of individual regions, from which “proto-armies” of independent national states will later grow,” – added the people's deputy.

Recall that the chief of staff of the RDK Alexander, using the pseudo “Fortune”, previously commented on the likelihood of the collapse of the Russian Federation. According to him, such a theory about the collapse of Russia due to internal disputes is utopian. Even despite the fact that in the Russian Federation there are pockets of resistance and a certain number of dissatisfied people.
