In Kaskelen , in a city near Almaty, several activists went to a protest rally called “Kazakhstan is a big prison.” After a while, they were stopped by the police, who used tear gas to arrest them. According to one of the protesters in Kaskelen, Yerkin Kaziev, seven protesters were taken to a temporary detention center.

In Karaganda at least 200 people, mostly men, went to one from the squares of the city. People demanded that the akim (head of administration – Ed.) Of the Karaganda region Zhenis Kasymbek should come to them. The protesters have not yet been dispersed.

In the city of Aktobe the protesters gathered in two places: in front of the building of the regional akimat and on Prospect 312th Rifle Division. In the city of Taraz , the police detained local residents and journalists who had gathered for a protest. According to the participants, the police started arresting them almost as soon as the rally began.
