Protests in France: cultural figures are unhappy with restrictions due to pandemic
France is engulfed in protests. In the west of the country, in Nantes, two actions took place at once – against restrictions due to coronavirus and in connection with the new security law, MIR 24 reports.
About a thousand people threw fires and firecrackers at the City Hall, the police used a water cannon and tear gas to disperse. Artists and cultural figures walked in one of the columns – they demanded that the restrictions introduced due to the pandemic be lifted.
The rally of their colleagues in Paris turned out to be larger and more spectacular. Movie theaters, museum workers and street musicians have called on the government to let them work. The authorities promised to partially lift the restrictions by mid-December, but later announced that theaters and concert halls would open only on January 7.
