Charitable, social and humanitarian organizations around the world are stepping up their activities to help Ukrainians in the face of a treacherous Russian invasion. Here are some of them.
Razom for Ukraine
The American organization Razom for Ukraine, after the Russian military attack, is engaged in the search and delivery of medicines to Ukraine.
“Now the problem is the disruption of the supply chain and the unavailability of some vital medical supplies,” a representative of the organization said.
According to him, the medical equipment that is necessary for tactical medicine can no longer be bought in Ukraine, and there is not enough of it in the stocks of the Ukrainian army.
UNICEF
The UN Children's Fund is expanding programs amid the military crisis that has affected 3.4 million people , including 510,000 children, in Donbas, according to its website.
The programs include the delivery of safe water to the affected areas, as well as medical, hygiene and emergency humanitarian supplies as close as possible to settlements that are located near conflict zones.
International Committee of the Red Cross
The Red Cross is engaged in humanitarian activities, helping Ukrainians affected by the military conflict.
Representatives of the Red Cross helped families in the Ukrainian-controlled areas of Donbas to renovate thousands of houses, hospitals and primary health care facilities, schools and community centers.
The organization sees the situation in eastern Ukraine as “a low-intensity conflict with regular outbreaks of violence that has claimed the lives of many people, destroyed homes and divided entire families.”
International Medical Corps
The International Medical Corps and its team in Ukraine “have taken immediate action to ensure the safety of medical personnel and stand ready to expand assistance to the civilian population as needed,” according to the organization's website.
Project HOPE
The Global Health and Humanitarian Organization has responded to the Ukraine crisis by providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people both in Ukraine and in neighboring countries.
According to the organization, the Project HOPE emergency response team and partners on the ground are “sending critical medical supplies and stand ready to provide medical screenings, mental health support and care for refugee outflows as this tragic situation evolves.”
