“Progress” docked to the “Science” module
The Progress MS-17 cargo vehicle, which had left the International Space Station (ISS) the day before, re-docked at the station, follows from the broadcast on the Roscosmos website.
Docking to the “Science” module took place in automatic mode. The ship separated from the Poisk module on Thursday at 2.44 Moscow time. During an autonomous flight lasting 29 hours, Progress MS-17 made several maneuvers, moving away from the station by 185 kilometers.
Re-docking of the spacecraft to Nauka will make it possible to prepare the ISS for receiving the new and last module of the Russian segment of the station – Prichal; its launch is scheduled for November 24. The Prichal will be docked to the Science module.
Currently, the 66th expedition is on the ISS, consisting of the Russians Anton Shkaplerov and Peter Dubrov, the Americans Mark Vande Haya, Megan MacArthur and Shane Kimbrow, the Frenchman Tom Peske and the Japanese Akihiko Hoshide.
Earlier it was reported that next year Russia is going to launch two Soyuz manned spacecraft and three Progress trucks to the ISS. So, the launch of the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft is scheduled for March 18, and the Soyuz MS-22 launch will take place on September 21.
