Events dedicated to the New Year are being held in the Ural colonies and SIZ, the Yekaterinburg “MK” writes with reference to the press service of the main department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Sverdlovsk Region (GUFSIN).
Thus, in the correctional colony No. 3 in Krasnoturyinsk, a competition of snow sculptures on the New Year theme was held. It was won by a squad that made a three-meter figure of a tiger. Now the winners will be given sweet gifts.
A similar competition was held in colony no. 62 in Ivdel: there, the prisoners' works were placed near the city tree, and they decided to encourage the winners with additional rights. In addition, in the colony No. 46 in Nevyansk, a competition was held for the best New Year's decoration of the detachment.
At the end of December, the Federal Penitentiary Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region told that they found a prisoner similar to the German actress Marlene Dietrich in one of the colonies for women: in honor of the 120th anniversary of the artist's birth, the institution held a special competition of doubles. The inmates chose outfits and makeup based on old Dietrich photographs. The first place was taken by a participant named Victoria: the jury considered that she portrayed the image of the actress as closely as possible.
