According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, at the intersection of Gagarin Avenue and Odessa Street in Kharkov, two cars collided, one of which was driving at a red traffic light.
A Chevrolet Aveo driver died at the scene of the accident, and 16 -year-old girl and two 19-year-old boys were admitted to the hospital.
The investigation established that the Infiniti car was driven by a 16-year-old teenager Nikolai Kharkivsky, moving at a speed of 180 km/h.
While in a medical facility, the young man called the police with a message that his car had allegedly been stolen.
Law enforcers found out that during the accident, Infiniti was in good condition, in particular, the brake and steering systems.

The suspect will be tried under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules traffic safety or the operation of transport by persons driving vehicles, if they caused the death of the victim or caused serious bodily injury) and part 1 of Article 383 (knowingly false reporting of the commission of Ukraine.
The greatest punishment under these articles is imprisonment imprisonment for a period of two to eight years with a possible deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without.
Currently, an investigation is underway on the facts of admission of the teenager's parents to driving a car and malicious failure to fulfill childcare obligations (Articles 287 and 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Law enforcement officers are also investigating the fact of illegal seizure of a vehicle (according to parts 1 and 3 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
