Prince Harry wrote to his father, Prince Charles, a “deeply personal” note before arriving for the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip. This is reported by The Mirror, citing sources in the palace.
“He wrote a very personal and heartfelt message to try and fix things, but the relationship between them is still tense. He hoped that everything would work out, but so far this has not happened, ”the source said. He added that after the death of Prince Philip, an unspoken agreement was made between all members of the royal family: to forget about past conflicts and focus on supporting the heartbroken queen.
Sources close to Prince Harry claim that at some point he was forced to start writing paper letters to his father, as he stopped responding through other communication channels. The Duke of Sussex's relationship with his brother, Prince William, also remains tense, even though they talked a little after his grandfather's funeral.
Prince Harry's relationship with the family soured after he stepped down as a senior member of the royal family in early 2020 and flew to Canada, then moved to the United States with his wife Meghan Markle and son Archie Harrison. Over time, the conflict subsided, but in March 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave a scandalous interview to Oprah Winfrey, in which they accused an unnamed member of the royal family of racism and stated that Meghan Markle was not allowed to use the help of a psychologist if she had suicidal thoughts during pregnancy.
Among other things, Prince Harry stated that Prince William and Prince Charles were “trapped by the royal family” and cannot leave as he did. The princes are said to have been extremely outraged by this statement. Prince Charles also found it offensive that the interview aired while Prince Philip was seriously ill.
