The heir to the British throne, 72-year-old Prince Charles has taken on the creation of a fashion line. Together with Italian designers, he is working on a collection called the Modern Artisan Project.
The son of Elizabeth II was always known as a great fashionista, dressed only with famous couturiers and went out into public dressed, as they say, with a needle.
“I have always tried to use my own wardrobe to highlight the great skill in the art of pairing,” says the Prince of Wales. “It's better to buy one thing, but a good one.”
Prince Charles's logic is simple: the fewer things we buy, the less harm we do to the environment, we lead an eco-friendly lifestyle. But there is one “but”: clothes must be of excellent quality, then it will last a long time. And you have to pay for quality, so not everyone can afford designer clothes from the heir to the British throne.
The cheapest item in the collection is the $ 475 cashmere sweater. There's also a merino and cashmere coat, a $ 1,495 women's coat, a $ 795 cotton shirt, and a $ 1,350 blazer with matching cashmere trousers for $ 1,095.
All fabrics for the royal collection are specially woven. Cashmere and wool were brought by textile workers from Scotland, and organic silk from Italy. According to the designers, only natural eco-fabrics are used in sewing without the addition of synthetics.
All profits from the sale of luxury wardrobe will go to support young UK designers, writes People.
