ATOR: prices for travel in Russia in 2022 should increase by about 10%

The head of the domestic tourism committee of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Ilya Umansky said that prices for travel around the country in 2022 should increase by about ten percent. He predicted the rise in prices in an interview with URA.RU
“Pricing follows demand and peak periods of high demand, we will have greater price increases. During periods of low utilization, we will have some reductions, ”he stressed.
Vice-President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) Dmitry Gorin, in turn, noted that a number of directions have become more accessible. “It was never possible to go on a trip to Sakhalin with a flight from Moscow for 35-38 thousand rubles. One air ticket costs 40 thousand there, ”he said.
According to him, domestic tourism exceeded the indicators of 2019, which indicates the recovery of travel in Russia.
Earlier in December, ATOR executive director Maya Lomidze named Turkey the most popular foreign destination among Russians in 2021. According to preliminary estimates, 4.6 million domestic tourists visited the country this year.
