According to the informant, the relevant negotiations are also being conducted withKuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Brazil, India, Japan and South Korea.
It is noted that the purpose of the meetings is to convince other countries that Russia’s actions can create a dangerous precedent, undermining the global norms of state sovereignty of Ukraine. “This is a ‘everywhere’ strategy, because Russia’s further invasion of Ukraine will have consequences for the entire world community,” a senior State Department official said.
According to journalists, negotiations with the UAE and Kuwait, which are major energy producers, are a signal that the United States has a plan in case the Russian Federation cuts off gas supply to Europe.
It should be noted that Russia continues to pull troops to the Ukrainian border. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that there are about 109 thousand Russian military personnel and about 10-11 thousand additional military personnel near the borders of Ukraine.
