Presidential elections in Lithuania: Nauseda and Simonyte reached the second round

According to the Central Election Commission, the current head of state Gitanas Nauseda is confidently in the lead – 44.2% of voters voted for him.

Shimonytė has 19.94%. She is ahead of lawyer Ignas Wegele, who has 12.47% of the votes.

• On May 12, presidential elections were held in the country. According to the law, if none of the candidates receives more than 50% of the votes, a second round must take place in 2 weeks.
• In parallel with the elections, a referendum on the legalization of multiple citizenship was held in Lithuania.
