President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov postponed the date of celebration of the Day of Turkmen Alabay. He made the corresponding decision during a joint meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council of the republic, reports the “Turkmenistan Today” agency.
The head of state decided to postpone the celebration of the Day of Turkmen Alabai without explaining the reasons. Now the national holiday in the country will be celebrated not on the last Sunday in April, but on the last Sunday in October.
By signing the corresponding decree, Berdymukhamedov called the preservation of the Alabaevs “a sacred duty” and won “thunderous applause,” the agency added.
The Turkmen leader established a holiday in honor of the Alabai dog in February. Initially, it was decided to celebrate it on the last Sunday of April, together with the Akhal-Teke Horse National Day.
