The clubs of the English Premier League have agreed to an extension of the media contracts on the same terms for a further three years. As the Premier League announced on Thursday, Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime Video and BBC will remain the partners of the highest English football class from 2022/2023 to 2024/25. The British government had previously approved the procedure without a new tender.
As the Premier League announced, the value of the new agreement is the same as the previous one. In 2018, the English top league had to accept a ten percent cut in its television income compared to the previous contract with 4.7 billion pounds (around 5.5 billion euros).
