Japanese authorities are warning that any arms agreement between North Korea and aggressor country Russia following a meeting between their two leaders Kim Jong-in and Vladimir Putin could potentially violate UN Security Council resolutions.
Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa stated this at a meeting, writes CNN/
“Tokyo is closely monitoring the situation with concern,” she emphasized.
According to her, any agreement between the two countries “could lead to a violation of relevant Security Council resolutions.” The diplomat expressed concern that a summit between Kim Jong-in and Vladimir Putin could lead to North Korea providing weapons and other assistance to Russia.
She added that Japan will work closely with the international community, in particular the United States The United States and South Korea on developments.
Recall that Seoul also warned about a possible military agreement between Russia and North Korea. South Korean Unification Ministry chief Kim Yun-ho says Pyongyang and Moscow appear to be pursuing “some kind of military agreement.”
