Post Express items can be posted by December 23rd at the latest.
The Austrian Post expects a particularly high number of packers before Christmas this year, with up to a million parcels per day. Swiss Post advises you to use the following posting times as a guide so that all domestic and international shipments arrive on time by December 24th.
Priority letters for recipients in Austria should be posted by Tuesday, December 22nd, and Eco letters by Friday, December 18th. The last possible posting for parcels is Monday, December 21st, Post Express items can be posted by Wednesday, December 23rd at the latest. For shipments abroad, a correspondingly earlier posting period should be observed.
“This information is subject to corona-related restrictions, which can lead to delays in delivery. For both Post Express and parcel shipments to third countries, particular attention must be paid to the processing time for customs clearance in the respective destination country,” said Post AG.
All post office branches will be open on Saturday, December 19 and Thursday, December 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. – selected branches located in shopping centers, for example, will “possibly be longer” On Wednesday, December 23rd, the opening times of all branches will be extended from 8 a.m. to at least 6 p.m.
The post deliverers are still on duty on Saturday, December 19 and Thursday, December 24.
