Three men who beat the Olympic champion in figure skating Dmitry Solovyov face prison terms. The correspondent of “Lenta.ru” informs about it.

A criminal case was initiated against the attackers under article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of moderate severity of harm to health, committed by a group of persons out of hooligan motives”). It provides for imprisonment for up to five years.

If the state of health of Solovyov begins to deteriorate, the article may be re-qualified to a more serious one – 113 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, committed by a group of persons out of hooligan motives”). According to it, the attackers will face up to 12 years in prison.

On December 21, an athlete was beaten in Moscow by three men when he stood up for his girlfriend, curler Anna Sidorova. The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow reported that the attackers were detained.

Soloviev performed in ice dancing with Ekaterina Bobrova. Together they became 2014 Olympic champions and 2018 Olympic silver medalists in team competition.
