TV presenter Vladimir Pozner explained why Russia is perceived as hostile by the Americans. He told about this to “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
He argues that on American TV channels only negative pictures about Russia are shown, and most people formulate their attitude to the situation in the world by the way they are presented with this or that situation.
Posner pointed to a similar situation with Russian television channels, one-sidedly reporting on the pogroms in the United States, without explaining the reasons for what was happening. “Actually, the same is happening in America. And they also believe that we are their enemies. And there, too, they are afraid of us no less, and maybe even more, than we are of them, ”said the TV presenter.
Earlier, Vladimir Pozner told why, in order to understand the situation with protests in the United States, one must first thoroughly study the situation inside the country, that is, “climb the American bell tower.” According to the presenter, people are used to discussing world events willy-nilly, focusing on the experience of living only in their own country.
In April, Pozner explained Russia's inferiority complex to the West. In his opinion, this feature of the country was formed long ago, since the time of the writer and poet Alexander Pushkin. The journalist emphasized that the country's internal insecurity leads to an external manifestation of a sense of its superiority.
86-year-old Vladimir Pozner is a Soviet and Russian journalist, host of the author's program “Pozner”, which has been broadcast on Channel One since 2008. The journalist became known to a wide audience after teleconferences between the United States and the USSR in the 1980s. Posner led a teleconference from Moscow, and presenter Phil Donahue got in touch from the United States.
