Chelsea are in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The “Blues” continued on Tuesday despite a 0-1 defeat against Porto.
The Londoners won the quarter-final first leg 2-0, thus laying the foundation for promotion in the first meeting. The spectacular Porto winner by Mehdi Taremi (94th) came too late.

In the alternative quarters in Seville, the Portuguese had tried to make up the two-goal deficit, but were hardly dangerous. A conclusion from Jesus Corona, which clearly missed its target (33rd), was already the most dangerous thing that the Portuguese brought together against defensively compact Londoners.
The “Blues” could not be lured, managed the lead over the Portuguese. Christian Pulisic missed the chance for the final decision in the 54th minute and couldn't control a Chilwell pass.
Porto tried to be even more offensive in the end. But a header from Taremi, which keeper Edouard Mendy easily caught (65th), did not put the “Blues” in trouble.
It only got exciting again in stoppage time. Taremi rose into the air on a Nanu flank, hammered the ball into the mesh with an overhead kick to make it 1-0. But the hit came too late. The “blues” ascent was no longer in danger.
