It is noted that the pope became the first pontiff to speak out for same-sex unions, thus deviating from the doctrinal position of the Vatican, which was followed by all his predecessors.
Earlier, the Pope held a meeting with the parents of LGBT teenagers, where he said that God loves all his children. At the same time, the pontiff did not say that God loves “precisely LGBT children,” but it was clear from his words that he makes no exceptions for homosexual adolescents.
