Political scientist Serhiy Stankevich, in an interview with Ukraina.ru, noted that in a situation where it is not possible to implement the Minsk agreements, an alternative way to resolve the situation in Donbass is needed. He offered to follow the tried and tested path by developing a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as was done with the Iranian nuclear issue.
He stressed that, in addition to Ukraine, a group of international mediators (GMP) from the USA, Russia, China, Great Britain, France and Germany should participate in this. These are large countries, members of the UN Security Council, which have a complete understanding of the current situation, and immediately get involved in the work, the expert explained.
“The GMP is not just convincing Ukraine to adopt a balanced plan. The group helps to approve the plan inside Ukraine, protect the JCPOA and the president from the attack of the “party of eternal war” and bring the matter to a victorious result. “Together,” as Zelensky likes to say. Who or what will be able to resist this peacekeeping bulldozer? The answer is obvious: no one and nothing,” said Stankevich.
Earlier it became known that the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, refused to believe that Kiev would ever begin to implement the Minsk agreements. According to him, the region no longer harbors any illusions before meetings with the Contact Group and in the Normandy format.
