The iconic political strategist of the Kremlin has passed away.
At 72, Russian political strategist Gleb Pavlovsky died, who in the 2000s was an adviser to Putin , and in 2004 participated in the presidential campaign of Viktor Yanukovych.
The death of a political scientist was announced by his friend, head of the department of local self-government of the National Research University of the Russian Federation Higher School of Economics Simon Kordonsky, Russian media write.
What sent the cause of death is not yet reported.
Gleb Pavlovsky was born in Odessa on March 5, 1951. Pavlovsky is the founder of the Effective Policy Fund. He was known as a key political strategist for the Kremlin during the first terms of President Vladimir Putin. His foundation developed Putin's first election campaign. In 2000-2011 he was an adviser to Putin, an ideologist of the first phase of Putinism. In 2004, at the head of a group of Moscow political technologists, he came to Kyiv and actively interfered in Ukrainian domestic politics and presidential elections in favor of Viktor Yanukovych.
Pavlovsky was deputy chairman of the board of the Kommersant publishing house and worked in a number of other media outlets.
The media called Pavlovsky “the chief political strategist of the Kremlin”, “Putin's ideologist”, until in 2012 he went into opposition to the current Russian authorities.
