Polish Sejm calls Putin a war criminal

The Seimas called for holding Putin and his associates accountable for committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, acts of genocide and systemic human rights violations committed in Ukraine.

The Sejm of Poland recognized the President of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, as a war criminal

Polish Radio reports this.

Resolution on the commission of war crimes and crimes against humanity and violation of human rights by Russia prepared by the Presidium of the Seimas in Ukraine.

“The Seimas of Poland strongly condemns acts of prolonged violence, war crimes, crimes against humanity, acts of genocide, systemic violations of human rights and other criminal violations of international law committed on the territory of sovereign Ukraine by the armed forces RF together those with allies on the orders of military commanders under the direct subordination of President Vladimir Putin,” the resolution reads.

The Seimas called on the international community to support the initiation and conduct of trials in the International Court, as well as bring to account Putin and his associates for committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, acts of genocide and systemic human rights violations committed on the territory of sovereign Ukraine.

The Seimas also appealed to the parliaments of democratic countries of the world and to the European Parliament with a request to impose widest sanctions on Putin and his associates.
