Polish farmers on the border with Ukraine tried to interfere with the movement of trains

The Polish police prevented the protesters from blocking the tracks.

On Sunday, February 18, at the Dorogusk railway station near the border with Ukraine, Polish farmers, holding a large-scale protest, tried to block the movement of trains.

This was reported by the State Customs Service.

The attempt to interfere with railway traffic continued from 15:30 to 17:30, but after the intervention of the Polish police it was stopped. Currently, train traffic is operating as normal.

Truck traffic at the Dorogusk-Yagodin international checkpoint has been completely blocked in both directions since 9 a.m. by Polish farmers.

“Contrary to the protesters’ promises to allow perishable, dangerous or humanitarian cargo through, not a single truck has crossed the border since then,” the message says.

At the same time, regular buses are allowed through as usual, without queues.

The State Customs Service clarified that the participation of farmers from other European countries in the Polish protest announced the day before has not been confirmed.

It was previously reported that farmers from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and France are heading to the Polish-Ukrainian border and intend to take part in a large-scale protest.

Polish farmers also threatened to block all checkpoints on the border with Ukraine on February 20.

Recall that earlier on social networks it was reported that Polish protesters during the border blockade did not allow trucks carrying humanitarian aid, including vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to pass through.
