Polish farmers after the weekend of February 24-25 want resume protests on the German border. They plan to completely block traffic at the checkpoint and go on strike around the clock.

This is reported by RMF24.

It is noted that truck traffic is about to be diverted. However, farmers' plans may still change.

Entrepreneurs, in turn, spoke out against blocking the routes. The petition to the mayor of the border town of Slubice was sent by the owners of transport companies, gas stations, car repair shops, car washes, warehouses, as well as traders.

As they write, “the nature of the planned protest and its form, aimed at impeding the free movement of vehicles on public roads, paralyzes and interferes with the free execution of our activities (…), which leads to the impossibility of carrying out activities and fulfill contractual obligations, which, in turn, will lead to significant losses (fines, fees for downtime and expenses, among other things, for leasing, rental costs, lack of profit).”

International transport companies are also threatening farmers with lawsuits for damages.

Recall that Ukrainian farmers brought agricultural equipment destroyed by Russian occupiers to the border with Poland to demonstrate to Polish protesters the realities of working in the agricultural sector of Ukraine during the war.
