On the border with Germany towards Berlin, at two checkpoints – in Svetsko and Gubintsy, there are about 100 tractors.
Polish farmers block the A2 motorway near the Polish-German border on March 17. They are protesting against the import of agricultural products from Ukraine.
The press secretary of the district police commandant's office in the Polish city of Slubice, Eva Murmilo, told Radio Liberty.
According to the organizers of the blockade, only emergency services can pass through: police, ambulance, fire and border services. The remaining cars are sent along detour routes to other checkpoints, in particular to Olshina.
Radio Liberty, citing protesters, reports that they are against the influx of agricultural products not only from Ukraine, but also from Belarus, Russia and other countries.
“We are against the influx of non-standardized products into the EU. We must adhere to strict norms and regulations, but genetically modified products arrive. Because neither in Ukraine, nor in Russia, nor in other countries where genetically modified products, there are no standards and such goods end up on the Polish market,” said the coordinator of the protests in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Edward Krossma.
At the same time, Polish farmers did not hold protests on the Polish-Belarusian border, because of which agricultural products from Russia enter European countries.
According to the organizers, the blockade will last until the evening of March 20, but they do not rule out extending the blockade.
March 15 TSN.ua already reported that Polish farmers began to block the borders with Slovakia to check whether grain was being imported from Ukraine . There, too, the road was blocked by tractors. This action led to the accumulation of about a dozen cars and several dozen trucks at the border.
