Explosion site in Nashville
Moscow. December 25. INTERFAX.RU – The police in the American city of Nashville (Tennessee) were notified in advance that an explosion of a camper van would soon occur in the city center. It is reported by the ABC TV channel with reference to the city police department.
At a press conference, police officials said that law enforcement officers arrived in the city center in response to reports of shooting. At the scene, they found a van, from which an audio recording was broadcast with an explosion warning 15 minutes later.
The police began to evacuate nearby buildings and called in sappers, but then an explosion occurred. The police said they did not know if anyone was in the van at the time of the explosion.
As a result of the explosion, glass was broken in neighboring houses, several buildings were damaged. Earlier it was reported that during the incident three people were injured, but they are not in critical condition.
White House spokesman Judd Deere said that US President Donald Trump had been informed of the situation.
